Respite is designed to give a carer a break from what they are doing in their caring role. Our team of Home Support staff are available to provide Respite in the event of an unforeseen carer emergency. Our Respite care services also enable carers to have a break to ensure that they do not burn out. Examples include going out socially, a special event or medical appointment, a family engagement, or just to have some time out from the caring role. Respite Care and Carer Support services are available as part of our subsidised Commonwealth Home Support Program services (CHSP) or privately funded services.
